NCSC Warns Windows 10 Users of Rising Cyber Risks

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) in the UK has issued a significant warning to users of Windows 10, urging them to upgrade to Windows 11 to avoid increased cyber threats as Windows 10 approaches its end-of-life phase.

NCSC warns Windows 10 users

Recently released configuration packs aim to help organizations rapidly implement recommended security measures. Despite Windows 10's longevity since its release in July 2015, many users and organizations remain hesitant to upgrade, believing the existing system still meets their needs.

Windows 11 upgrade is recommended

However, once Windows 10 reaches its end-of-life on October 14, 2025, it will no longer receive security updates or technical support. The NCSC warns that sticking with an outdated system poses significant cyber risks, as unpatched vulnerabilities become prime targets for cybercriminals.

The organization has called on users and businesses to take action and transition to supported software to enhance their cyber resilience.
